Age Criteria

  • Based on the regulations from the Department of Technical Education (DTE), Haryana, and the Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) for admissions to Government Polytechnics (including Panchkula), the age criteria for the 2024–2025 academic session are generally as follows:
    • Minimum Age: Candidates must be at least 14 years old as of the date of admission (typically by August 1st or September 1st of the admission year).
    • Maximum Age: Generally, there is no upper age limit for admission to Diploma in Engineering courses, unless specifically mentioned in the admission brochure.
    • Risky Trades: For certain specialized or “risky” ITI trades, the minimum age requirement may be higher, often 17 years and 9 months.
    • Important Note: While there is no upper age limit for Diploma/Polytechnic courses, age may be used as a tie-breaking factor in merit lists (older candidates preferred).

Registration

  • Registration for HSBTE Haryana diploma courses(Every year) is conducted online via techadmissionshry.gov.in. Candidates must use their Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP ID) to register, upload scanned documents, fill choices, and pay the counselling fee. Registration generally includes personal details, document uploading, and choice locking to secure admission in AICTE-approved polytechnics.
    Steps for HSBTE Registration & Admission:
    • Step 1: Sign-up & Login: Visit the HSTES registration portal, create an account, and log in for the desired diploma course.
    • Step 2: Fill Details & Upload Documents: Enter details, using the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP ID) for Haryana residents. Upload required documents (e.g., marksheet, photograph, signature, category certificate) in PDF/JPG format.
    • Step 3: Pay Fee & Lock Choices: Pay the application/counselling fee online and select preferred institutes/branches.
    • Step 4: Seat Allotment & Reporting: After merit list publication, check seat allotment results and report to the allocated institute for document verification.
    Key Requirements:
    • Mandatory Documents: Aadhaar card, 10th/12th marksheet, Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP ID) for Haryana residents, category certificate (if applicable).
    • Photo Specifications: Scanned photograph (max 50KB) and signature (max 20KB) in JPG/JPEG format.

Important Rules

    • Merit-Based: Admissions are based on inter-se-merit of the qualifying exam (10th for Diploma Engg, 12th for Pharmacy).
    • Counseling Rounds: Admissions are conducted in two rounds of online off-campus counseling.
    • Choice Filling: Candidates must fill and lock their choices of institutes and branches. It is advised to fill maximum choices to increase chances.
    • Seat Allotment & Reporting: After seat allotment, candidates must report to the allotted institute for document verification and fee payment to confirm admission.
    • Anti-Ragging Undertaking: An undertaking must be submitted by the student and parents.
      Admission to diploma courses under the Haryana State Board of Technical Education (HSBTE) is managed by the Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) through an online off-campus counseling process, primarily based on the merit of the qualifying examination.

      Here are the important rules and requirements for admission to HSBTE polytechnics for the 2025-26 academic session:
      1. Eligibility Criteria
      • Diploma in Engineering (Regular): Candidates must have passed the 10th standard/SSC examination with at least 35% marks (33% for SC/ST/Kashmiri Migrants).
      • Diploma in Engineering (Lateral Entry – 2nd Year): Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM), or 10+2 vocational, or 2 years ITI with appropriate trades.
      • Diploma in Pharmacy: Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.
      • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for admission to diploma courses.
      • Domicile: 85% of seats are reserved for Haryana residents, and 15% are open to All India candidates.
      2. Mandatory Registration & Documentation
      • Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP): For Haryana residents, a verified PPP ID is mandatory to register.
      • Online Registration: All candidates must register on the official website: www.techadmissionshry.gov.in.
      • Documents to Upload: Scanned copies of 10th/12th marksheet, proof of date of birth (Aadhaar), Category Certificate (if applicable), and Income Certificate (for TFW/EWS) must be uploaded in PDF format (Max 100 KB).
      • Application Fee: Non-refundable registration fee must be paid online (e.g., ₹1000 for General, ₹700 for Reserved).

    • HGST (Haryana Govt School Topper): Seats are filled based on inter-se-merit in Class 10/12.
    • TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver): Open to candidates with parental annual income less than ₹8 Lakhs.
    • EWS (Economically Weaker Section): Requires a valid Income & Asset Certificate.
    • Kashmiri Migrants (KM): 5% supernumerary seats are reserved.
    5. Other Important Points
    • No Simultaneous Studies: A candidate cannot pursue another full-time course alongside the diploma.
    • Branch Change: Allowed in the 3rd semester based on 1st-semester merit within the same institute.
    • Re-admission: If a student is absent for more than one year, they lose the right to continue, though a principal may allow it for shorter gaps.
    • Attendance: 80% attendance is required, monitored via biometric machines.
